Both deeply connected to nature, they found themselves questioning the modern skincare landscape—why were so many products diluted, filled with synthetics, and disconnected from the land where their ingredients were grown?
Faced with their own health challenges, they sought to bridge the growing divide between humans and the natural world.
Their journey led them to Kenya, where they launched a regenerative smallholder farming initiative. Immersed in the wisdom of plant medicine, they witnessed the power of nature’s purest botanicals—untouched, undiluted, and potent enough to transform skin.
With backgrounds in design, holistic skincare, and land regeneration, Emilie & Ed set out to create something different—a collection of waterless, nutrient-dense formulations that deeply nourish, restore, and protect.

EMILIE JASPERS
Born and raised in Denmark, Emilie’s journey to skincare began long before she co-founded Star Seed.
Her love for botanicals was sparked at just 10 years old, when her father took her and her sisters foraging through the Danish landscapes. She learned to identify edible and medicinal plants—understanding their power to heal both body and skin.
Years later, after living and working in London’s fast-paced architecture industry, Emilie felt the deep disconnect between modern life and the natural rhythms of the earth. In 2020, she took a transformative step towards a path that honoured well-being and holistic health.
Through this journey, she healed her own skin struggles, insomnia, and IBS, not with a single miracle cure, but through a holistic approach—weaving together nutrition, natural skincare, and regenerative rituals.
This philosophy became the foundation of Star Seed—a waterless, regenerative skincare brand crafted with the most bioactive botanicals. Today, Emilie’s formulations are loved by facialists across London, delivering powerful results for sensitive, reactive, and mature skin.
Recently praised in Cosmopolitan and Country Life, she is a Certified Holistic Facialist and award-winning natural skincare formulator, blending science and ancient plant wisdom.
Emilie is a Certified Professional Facialist, trained at the prestigious Ray Cochrane Academy in Marylebone, the UK’s #1 beauty academy. She now shares her expertise through bespoke treatments, skincare education, and Star Seed’s mission to reconnect people with nature, one ritual at a time.
